Scrollbar Issue in Images Tab on Docker Desktop for macOS #7725

Closed

Description

@Mobin1993

Description

In Docker Desktop for macOS, I’ve noticed a strange behavior in the Images tab. When I open this tab, the scrollbar continuously shrinks and keeps doing so repeatedly. This happens even though I only have 4 images. It seems like the page displaying the images keeps extending endlessly, causing the scrollbar to get smaller and smaller. I wanted to report this issue to bring it to your attention.

Reproduce

  1. start docker desktop for macos
  2. navigate to images tab

    My investigation led me to the conclusion this issue has been introduced in 4.43.0. There's a mirror bug report on the for-win project as well: docker/for-win#14864.

    Same issue on macOS

    I'm experiencing the exact same UI issue in the Images tab on macOS. The vertical scrollbar keeps shrinking as if the image list is growing endlessly, even though I only have a few images.
    System info:

    Docker Desktop: 4.43.2 (199162)

    Docker Engine: 28.3.2

    macOS: Sonoma 15.5

    Architecture: arm64

    @k-hashiura

    I’m experiencing the same issue. Reopening the window or switching to another tab (such as Container) resets it, but every time I open the “Image” tab, it returns to the same state.

    I tried “Reset to factory defaults” and “Uninstall Docker Desktop” followed by a reinstallation, but it didn’t work.

    The bug does not occur on the screen right after the factory reset, but once I pull even a single image and the view switches from the Startup screen, the infinite scrolling starts happening again.

    Docker Desktop: 4.43.2 (199162)
    Docker Engine: 28.3.2
    macOS: Sonoma 15.5
    Architecture: arm64

    Thanks for reporting! Looks like this indeed was also reported in;

    I just asked internally, and it looks like a colleague is working on a fix for this (no ETA yet, but on the radar).

    Hi, Docker Desktop 4.44.0 has been released with a fix for this issue, so I’ll be closing this.
    If the issue persists, feel free to open a new one.

    For more information, see Docker Desktop 4.44.0 release notes.
