Day 10 - Charing Cross and Waterloo East 22-day line closure With Waterloo East station closed, we're making the most of this rare opportunity to carry out work that would be impossible to do when trains and passengers are moving through the station. Teams are cleaning and
orkers on scaffolding carrying out structural repairs and repainting to Waterloo East station's elevated steel framework above the railway.

Yellow engineering wagons loaded with ballast stand on curved tracks while workers in orange high-visibility clothing carry out track renewal work. Modern high-rise buildings dominate the background, with part of the London Eye visible behind the skyline.
