#SharpaWave helped train & test @GoogleDeepMind's Gemini Robotics 2. Backward compatible: the Wave adapts to any environment, object, or task. Same trash bags: no redesigned trash can. Same ziplock bags: no bulky boxes swapped in to make gripping easier. The hand fits the

Google just announced Gemini Robotics 2, extending its physical AI models beyond tabletop manipulation. A robot tying a trash bag sounds routine, but might be a bigger breakthrough than it seems:

@GoogleDeepMind's Gemini Robotics 2 model is released! Amazing to see the range of tasks covered, especially on dexterous manipulation. Tying a trash bag with the #SharpaWave is probably the most difficult yet useful task out there! We're excited about the possibilities this new

Three new models power this breakthrough: 1️⃣ Gemini Robotics 2: A vision-language-action model controlling humanoids from feet to fingertips 2️⃣ Gemini Robotics ER 2: Capable of real-world video understanding and complex, multi-step planning 3️⃣ On-Device 2: Runs locally and adapts

Flexible material handling, precise force application, tool manipulation, etc. those are the kind of motions where dexterous hands really make a difference. But good robot hands like the #SharpaWave only go so far as the models that can make them move. Shout out to the

It's great to see the robotics community pushing ahead on autonomous, dexterous manipulation. Those are fairly difficult tasks. Moving dexterous hands with a good level of coordination and precision is not trivial, yet it is very necessary to make robots truly productive.

Gemini Robotics 2 is here, with our new suite of models, robots can now reason through every movement to manage tasks that weren’t possible before, like tying delicate knots - and even team up to solve complex workflows. Huge congrats to the robotics team on this great milestone!
