    Hitting records. The Cedar City Airtanker Base has officially surpassed its previous record for the most gallons of fire retardant pumped in a single season. The former record, set in 2020, was 2,095,750 gallons. This past weekend, crews exceeded that milestone, and the total

    Today we honor and remember Phillip (Pip) Conner, a four-year seasonal firefighter with the National Park Service - Lake Mead National Recreation Area, who died on August 3, 2000. Pip died in a helicopter crash after fire suppression activities on the Charlie Complex near
