Fastly outage that happened 2 days ago was caught by PerfOps CDN analytics, thanks to our massive global real user (RUM) testing coverage. (img below) We use this very same analytics for our Smart Traffic Routing => MultiCDN switching based on 100s of millions of tests per day.
