- YAML is an acceptable s-expression. In vein of "Ruby is an acceptable LISP". Yes YAML has issues, yet it's way more readable than XML or even JSON when used as generic syntax for a DSL. Yes, DSLs like Ansible have meh DX (yaml-multiline.info). Still, important niche.
