Despite this election, I remain an optimist about America and the world. Humanity will continue to produce new ideas and new innovations to improve our lives. Good people will continue to come together to improve the world. And the political tide will turn. We'll make it so.

We're not supply limited on political lies and distortions. We're saturated. If anything, in the near term I see AI as a mild positive in debunking nonsense.

A significant update for me over the last 2-3 years has been to downgrade the dangers of deepfakes to public discourse. In 2023 I thought deepfake video, images, and audio would have a big impact on elections and such but so far the impact seems quite modest.

The notion that "The Singularity" is ahead of us is truly bizarre and a massive dilution of the term. "The Singularity" is an event horizon we cannot look past. We have plenty of ways to model the behavior of super-intelligent entities (though most such efforts are quite shallow
