    Discussed this with my grandma today. Her analysis is that everyone seems to be much more busy nowadays than before, mostly because both spouses now have to work to support the family

    This was a big culture shock when we moved to the UK, coming from Lesotho and Pakistan where you'd visit people unannounced and they would be happy to see you and ready to host you with tea and snacks, if not a meal From what I hear, this is sadly going away even in those places
