    This is the kind of advice that sounds good but totally falls apart when you try to act on it. E.g. A lot of compliance roles end up going to the opposite personality type bc they'll let bosses do whatever

    if you’re not looking for a passion-based job, just a job where you can make a sustainable income, i’d base it in your natural personality traits instead. you like convincing ppl to do things? sales. you strict asf? compliance. you like talking all day? client onboarding. etc.

    Parents of disabled children are honestly some of the most ableist people you will ever meet in your life. It's a red flag moreso than a sign of compassion. Ableists don't turn non-ableist once they have a child.

    It's because research is so competitive that the only people who get full positions are the ones most willing to "play the game". Much like Democratic politicians, academics are pre-selected bad allies
