The software running this site and its companion "Sandbox" sites is the very latest Manila Beta software. We're doing the beta testing live, and by using this site to discuss the software, you'll be helping to test and shape the direction of the final release.
About this server
This server is itself running the latest Manila Beta software. As changes are made, they will be made available here almost immediately. The same software is available for download here, so you can review changes and test on your own server.
Root updates for the beta are also available. Instructions for setting up root updates are also on the download page.
Note: You must have a current, valid license and serial number in order to install the software on your own server, or to get beta root updates.
About this website
New documentation will be posted on this site in the docs directory, along with archived documentation for previous beta releases. Docs are visible in the site's discussion group and RSS feed, so it's recommended that you subscribe so you can see the latest changes and discussion.
There's also a page for changes in the current beta version.
All of these pages are linked into the site navigation at the right.
About the Sandbox Sites
The Sandbox Sites are special sites where beta testers can try out the new features. Once you're logged into this site, you're automatically made a managing editor on both of the Sandbox Sites, with full access to all of the site's prefs and administrative functions.
Sandbox 1 is for testing traditional, non-news items features. Sandbox 2 is for testing news items and related features.
Feedback
Please post your feedback, comments or questions in the discussion group on the main site. That's the one we're watching. Content posted in the sandbox sites will for the most part be ignored, unless you point at it from the main DG.
There is no mail list specifically for Manila Beta software at this time.
