A data and insights hub for the lending industry, built from real loans and the first AI agents working them.
The first production data on agentic AI in lending.
AI in lending has plenty of promises and very little proof. This report is the proof: how Autopilot performs on real loans, across live lender deployments, from application through close. Where agents save time, where they lift conversion, and where humans still make the call.
Autopilot works inside the same funnels Data Lab has measured for years, so its impact shows up in the same numbers: fewer stalled applications, faster follow-ups, higher pull-through.
The full report breaks results down by task, loan type, and institution.
We built Blend to make lending simpler and more transparent. Data Lab extends that transparency to the industry, publishing benchmarks and patterns from across our lender network, including what AI agents actually do in production.
Where the data comes from
Blend powers the application experience for hundreds of banks, credit unions, and independent mortgage banks, and Autopilot works inside those same funnels. That lets us measure both as they happen: loan by loan, in production, not in a demo.
How it’s handled
Findings are anonymized and aggregated. Lender-level data is never shared. Every analysis publishes its study period, qualification criteria, and methodology.

Closing disclosures go out 2-4 days sooner with Autopilot. The reason: files get fixed at intake, not after the borrower commits.

Autopilot hands 4.5 hours back per file, and half of it is spent on one task: reading borrower documents. Here's the full breakdown.

For every 100 loans that closed before, lenders running Autopilot close 110-115. Same lenders, same applications, more fundings.
