I strongly believe that 11+ preparation shouldn’t be stressful.
Let me explain how stress free preparation is possible:
- First, the focus is on building strong core skills and confidence
- Then, learning is accelerated as we develop the foundations necessary for the 11+
- Finally, my students master the skills and techniques required to pass the 11+
By starting early, your child is not under pressure, they build stamina, confidence and skills whilst having fun.
What I Offer
In Year 3, children build foundations in English and Maths and improve confidence.
In Year 4, children accelerate their learning and develop specific techniques for solving Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning questions.
In Year 5, children learn to apply their knowledge and master the speed, accuracy and exam readiness required to sit the 11+.
As an experienced tutor, every single one of my students receives:
- Tailored lessons and homework

- WhatsApp and email support for parents
- Half-termly review of your child’s learning, and learning plan

Which entrance exams do you prepare children for?
I specialise in preparing children to take the 11+ for the following schools:
- Wirral Grammar School for Girls
- Wirral Grammar School for Boys
- Caldy Grange Grammar Schools for Boys
- West Kirby Grammar School for Girls
What if my child also wishes to sit the entrance exam for Upton Hall or St Anselm’s?
Test content can change, whichever entrance exam your child is sitting, to this end, I make sure that I give all my pupils a broad range of skills. Strong foundations are built in English and Maths and we learn the reasoning skills necessary to master the Verbal and Non-Verbal reasoning sections of the tests. It is true that in Year 5 focus of the main weekly sessions does move towards the Wirral Grammar Schools Consortium test, however, any pupils also sitting Upton Hall or St Anselm’s tests will get tailored homework and feedback as well as the opportunity to join, heavily discounted, masterclass sessions for comprehension and creative writing.
Will my child pass the 11+ test?
I cannot guarantee results. What I can say, however, is if your child engages in the lessons, finishes homework and, with your support competes the tasks on their learning plan, then they will accelerate their learning and be successful whatever secondary school they go to in the end.
What feedback do you provide?
After every lesson, you will receive the lesson summary and homework for the week. I will also point you towards video clips and other resources that will help your child.
You will receive a personalised review of your child’s progress each half-term and a plan to help them move forward.
Each term I will offer a 10-minute 1-1 call so you can get feedback directly and ask any questions.
You also have WhatsApp and email access to me between lessons.
