What does IAM mean?

Identity and Access Management (IAM) is a framework of policies, technologies, and processes that ensures the right individuals or systems have the appropriate access to resources within a computer system. It ensures the right users have the appropriate access to technology resources.
IAM solutions typically involve the management of user identities, authentication mechanisms, authorization processes, and the enforcement of security policies.

Example:
AWS IAM is a web service that helps you securely control access to Amazon Web Services (AWS) resources. It allows you to manage users and their level of access to the AWS Management Console and AWS services.
