Writing & Editing Tools

Overleaf

An online collaborative platform for creating scientific documents using LaTeX or Rich Text formatting. Ideal for manuscripts, theses, and publications where you need professional typesetting, version control, and real-time collaboration with co-authors. Works across Mac, Windows, and Linux.

LaTex and BibTex

LaTeX is a powerful typesetting system that converts plain-text files with formatting commands into polished, publication-ready documents. BibTeX is a companion tool that organizes and formats your references automatically within LaTeX documents. Best for researchers who want precise control over document layout and bibliography formatting.

Citation Management

Zotero

A free, open-source reference manager that helps you collect, organize, and cite research. Automatically captures citations from journals, library catalogs, and the web; supports over 9,000 citation styles; and integrates with Word, LibreOffice, and Google Docs. Available for Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android.

Perma.cc
