Have you ever felt like networking requires you to be a different version of yourself? We get it. For World Mental Health Day, LinkedIn and Headspace are launching Lets Reset. In the first episode, Bri Morales hit the streets of NYC to ask Gen Z what makes networking feel awkward, forced, and transactional. The answer wasnt a better networking strategy. It was a mindset shift: Stop trying to impress people. Start getting curious about them. What's one thing you'd change about the way people think about networking today? Tell us in the comments.

"In 2020, when I first became a cartoonist, LinkedIn was a huge part of my success... On LinkedIn, I learned there were loads of other people figuring it out too. Career changers, creative freelancers, quitters, and people starting over. I found new clients, made new friends, landed some incredible opportunities and, maybe most importantly, realized I wasn’t alone in having a non-linear career." Has your career ever taken you somewhere unexpected? s/o Sarah Akinterinwa

Even Oprah wondered what her next job was going to be. When she was wrapping up The Oprah Winfrey Show, the talk show host, producer and philanthropist asked herself, “How am I going to use my life now? What are you going to do?” The answer was launching her own network, a move into unfamiliar territory. Looking back, Oprah says she approached that transition with the wrong mindset. “The big mistake that I made, and it took me a while to course correct it, is literally feeling like, ‘I did this, so now I gotta do this.’” Instead of doing things out of obligation, Oprah says, “Take your time to feel your way to the next right thing.” She continues, “Anybody who’s thinking of retiring, or you’re thinking of shifting your job, give yourself the time you deserve to make the next right decision.” And if you’re unsure of where to start, she encourages people to look for a way to contribute to something bigger than themselves. What's helped you find your "next right thing" during a career transition? Tell us in the comments.
