Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide, behind cardiovascular diseases. International organizations are not optimistic and warn that the numbers are increasing. In fact, according to the World Health Organization’s forecasts, nearly 30 million new cases will be diagnosed worldwide in 2040, a 63.7% increase compared to today.
At PharmaMar, we focus on the oncology area, exploring the antitumor properties present in marine biodiversity to develop unique therapies. We particularly center our research on rare cancers, aiming to develop innovative and effective treatments for these diseases.
