The Multi-Agent Form’s per-agent submit button settings were being applied to every layout, overriding both options.
- Fixed “Open in New Tab” was ignored on sites where the Settings page had never been saved: the switch showed as on in the admin, but WhatsApp still opened in the same tab and the visitor left the site. The front end now uses the same default the setting itself declares.
- Fixed After a chat form was submitted, WhatsApp could still open in the current tab (or be blocked by the browser’s popup blocker) even with “Open in New Tab” on, because the link was opened only after the submission had been saved. The new tab is now opened as part of the click itself.

- Fixed The WhatsApp icon on the WhatsApp Button block showed as an empty square in the block editor, and was missing entirely for logged-out visitors on the front end. The icon font is now loaded in both places.
- Fixed With Icon Background enabled, the block editor preview ignored the chosen Icon Color and Icon Background Color and showed the button’s own colours instead. The preview now matches the front end.
- Changed Buttons now output only the analytics attribute that matches the selected chat type — an empty data-group no longer appears on number buttons, and vice versa.
- Changed Chat agents no longer ship with a placeholder WhatsApp number. An agent left blank now falls back to the Global Chat number, the same way every other empty number field does.

Security
Fixed an authenticated (Contributor and above) stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability in the
chat_help/ctwshortcode. Thenumberandgroupattributes were written into an unquoteddata-number/data-groupHTML attribute, allowing a crafted value to break out and inject an event handler. Attribute values are now output inside quotes withesc_attr(), and thenumber/groupinputs are additionally sanitized to allowed characters. Reported by Wordfence (CVE-2026-15799). - Improved Bundled icon font (icofont) subset to only the icons the plugin actually uses — the WOFF and WOFF2 files drop from ~640 KB / ~535 KB to ~11 KB / ~10 KB, and the stylesheet from ~10,000 rules to just the ones in use, for noticeably faster frontend loading.
- Improved Global WhatsApp defaults now also cover the chat_help shortcode and the WooCommerce Shop, Product, Cart, Checkout, and Thank You buttons — leaving a number/group empty on any of these inherits the Global Chat value, and setting one locally still overrides it.
- Improved WhatsApp Number and WhatsApp Group fields now share a single source of truth for their labels and help text, so wording and documentation links stay consistent across Global Chat, per-widget layouts, and every WooCommerce page.
- Fixed Custom uploaded icon images on the WooCommerce buttons could fail to render when the saved value was stored as a plain URL instead of a media array; icon resolution now handles both formats.
