Hi! I'm April (it/she), a girl from Manchester, United Kingdom. I'm interested in Java, reverse engineering, compilers, and low-level systems work.
I listen to a lot of music, some of my favourite artists include Bladee, Underscores, Seahorsechoke, Saoirse Dream, Ecco2k, Teen Suicide, Title Fight, Mac DeMarco & more.
I'm an individual OpenJDK contributor, mainly interested in JIT compilation and garbage collection. I like the parts of the JVM where profiling, generated code, runtime behaviour, and memory management all meet. I've also written about the JVM a lot.
Outside of JVM internals, I'm interested in reverse engineering, obfuscation, and compilers, especially JIT compilers and compilers with custom backends. I also like deobfuscation, JVM obfuscation, bytecode tooling, and building tools that make generated code easier to understand.
I enjoy modding games & playing Minecraft, Deadlock, Forza Horizon 6, Life is Strange, Stardew Valley, and a few others.
I'm from Manchester, and I love it. Something that especially interests me is the city's public transport; it is probably one of the best parts about it. In my free time I love walking around or just getting on the tram.
I also work on Apwil, a gamehacking library written in Rust for Windows that I have found useful when modding games.
Lately, though, most of my free time has gone into OpenJDK, where I've been working on a number of pull requests.
