I’m a software engineer and data scientist based in San Francisco. My recent work focuses on building Python apps and packages that make government datasets — Census data, immigration enforcement statistics, and more — accessible and explorable by anyone. My R package choroplethr has been downloaded over 320,000 times.
I teach data app development for O’Reilly and have written tutorials for RealPython. Earlier in my career I worked as a software engineer at leading tech companies, where I contributed to a hit video game and two successful exits. Most recently I worked as a Staff Data Science Engineer at a marketing analytics consultancy, where I built internal tools and mentored data scientists.
