Loudoun County election officials remind voters that early voting opportunities for the August 4, 2026, Republican primary election will expand this month to include weekends, extended hours and satellite locations.
On Sunday, July 19, 2026, the Office of Elections and Voter Registration in Leesburg will be open 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. for early voting as will the satellite voting locations: Ashburn Recreation and Community Center in Ashburn, Carver Senior Center in Purcellville, Claude Moore Recreation Center in Sterling and Dulles South Recreation Center in South Riding. (Note: A new state law requires that early voting be available on the second and third Sundays before election day.)
Opportunities for early voting at the satellite voting locations will resume Saturday, July 25. Exact dates, times and locations for early voting are posted at loudoun.gov/VoteEarly.
Deadlines for Voter Registration/Voting by Mail
The deadline to register to vote a non-provisional ballot in the August 4 election or to update current voter registration information is Friday, July 24. Voters may register up to and on election day and vote a provisional ballot. Information about Same-Day Voter Registration is available from the Virginia Department of Elections.
July 24 is also the last day to request a ballot by mail. More information on the process is online at loudoun.gov/VoteByMail.
Voting on Election Day
On election day, August 4, voters must go to their assigned precinct. Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Find more information at loudoun.gov/VoteOnElectionDay.

Who Can Vote
Virginia does not register voters by political party. Any registered voter is eligible to vote in the Republican primary election.
