When is the Southern California Fire Season?
Fires are possible throughout the year in California, but the peak fire season for Southern California starts in late spring (May-June) and runs until approximately, October1st.
UC Riverside Emergency Management, UCR Police Department, and Environmental Health Safety and Risk Management, monitor wildfires and the potential impact to the UC Riverside community. Fire and Air Quality information related to local fires will be sent via the mass notification system. This web page will also contain information and updates related to the main campus.
