№ 01    Know

Know what you're walking into

Every story is labeled before you read it: how emotionally heavy it is, what kind of story it is, and how directly it touches real people. A nutrition label for your nervous system — so the cost of a story is never a surprise.

Distressing imagery stays veiled until you decide. Heavy stories can be set aside entirely during the hours you choose. Nothing ambushes you.

№ 02    Transform

Read it in a voice you can handle

Every other tool can only hide the hard stories. We can reframe them — the same facts, re-voiced: calmer language, analytical distance, or any persona you create.

That is the difference between avoiding the news and engaging with it safely. You stay informed. You just don't pay for it with your nervous system.

Edition:

“Markets in chaos as devastating storm cripples region — fears mount of catastrophic fallout.” Officials scrambled today as the disaster spiraled, leaving residents terrified and the recovery in doubt.

“A severe storm has significantly affected the region; recovery efforts are underway.” Emergency services are responding, residents are being supported, and officials are assessing the economic effects. The situation is serious, and help is in motion.

“Storm disrupts regional infrastructure; markets price in short-term losses.” Key factors: extent of grid damage, insurance exposure, and the pace of federal response. Historical parallels suggest a two-to-three-quarter recovery window.

№ 03    Pace

Drink from a cup, not the firehose

The harm is rarely one story — it is the unbounded scroll. Here, how much and how fast are settings you own.

i.

Your window, your volume

Read the last thirty minutes or the whole month — a dial, not an infinite feed. When you're done, you're done.

ii.

Speed read, then leave

One word at a time, at your tempo — the substance of a story in seconds, on screen, in 3D, even in VR. Then out.

iii.

Words without the wound

Image-free mode strips the visual payload entirely. Sometimes the calmest way to read the news is in pure text.

№ 04    Balance

See your news diet, not just today's meal

Your reading balance shows the emotional shape of your week — how much heavy, how much hopeful — so awareness replaces autopilot.

Computed when you look at it, shown only to you, never stored as a profile. It is a mirror, not a dossier.
