Is Debbie's Family Child Care licensed by the State of California?
Yes. We are fully licensed and regularly inspected by the State of California. We meet and exceed all licensing requirements to ensure your child's safety, health, and well-being.
What are your hours of operation?
Our program runs Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We offer flexible schedules whenever possible to meet families' needs.
What are your tuition fees?
Tuition is determined by your child's age on a weekly basis. Please contact us directly for current rates and availability.
What is your child-to-caregiver ratio?
We maintain a low ratio, far below state requirements, ensuring personalized attention and strong relationships.
Do you care for infants?
Yes. We have extensive experience with infants, providing safe routines and stimulating sensory play.
How do you ensure each child gets the attention they need?
By keeping groups small and our approach personalized, every child feels seen, heard, and valued.
What does a typical day look like?
Each day blends guided activities, creative play, outdoor exploration, storytime, music, art, and movement.
How do you approach discipline and behavior guidance?
We use positive reinforcement, empathy, and respect, guiding children to learn responsibility.
How do you handle conflict between children?
We encourage children to express feelings, listen, and resolve peacefully with gentle guidance.
Are meals and snacks provided?
Yes. We serve nutritious, homemade meals with organic fruits, vegetables, proteins, and whole grains.
How do you communicate with parents?
We provide daily reports for infants, text/phone access, and friendly check-ins.
How much time do children spend outdoors?
Daily outdoor play includes movement, nature walks, and imaginative games.
What is the enrollment process?
We offer a tour, Q&A time, and help with paperwork to make enrollment simple.
How do you help children transition into daycare?
With patience and gradual starts, we provide reassurance and personalized support.
Do you currently have spots available?
Yes. We currently have 2 spots available starting August 2026. Spots fill quickly, so we recommend reaching out as soon as possible to schedule a visit.
What ages do you care for?
We welcome infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children, from as young as a few months old through preschool age.
Is the care truly bilingual?
Yes. English and Spanish are woven into every moment of the day naturally and consistently. From morning greetings to stories, songs, and conversations, both languages are simply part of how we live here.
Can I visit the space before enrolling my child?
Absolutely. We schedule all tours outside of care hours, without children present. That way you can see every space, ask every question, and leave with clarity.
What happens if you're sick or have an emergency?
We take this seriously. In the event of illness or emergency, we communicate with families as early as possible and work together to find the best solution. Transparency and reliability are non-negotiable for us.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes, fluently. Both English and Spanish are spoken every day at Debbie's. Families are welcome to communicate in whichever language feels most comfortable.
Is your husband Salvador involved in the daycare?
Yes, actively. Salvador is a deputy sheriff and an important part of everything we do here. From support behind the scenes to showing up for the children and families we serve, he is part of what makes Debbie's what it is.
