Now

from Milan, Italy

I had promised to update this page at least once a month. Then, as they say, “life happens”, and I was reminded for the umpteenth time that the plans we humans make are meant to be adjusted, changed, completely overturned.

  • In about a month, I’ll finish my teaching qualification course, which included over a hundred and fifty hours of practicum. I have so many things I could write about it – I learned a lot from dealing with the concrete reality of a school. I still have no idea if this job is for me, but I think I’ll only find out by letting my plans adapt as they must, just like following – cautiously – a mountain trail when you’re not quite sure where it leads.
  • I’ve gone back to reading every day, thanks to a novel by an Italian author I always enjoy and a reread of an English one who never fails to make me laugh.
  • Even though I’m not a TV series person, I’m happily following two: “Your Friends and Neighbors” and “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed”. Check them out if you’re looking for inputs.
  • I kicked off the 2026 hiking season in one of my absolute favorite Alpine areas, with the best company I could have hoped for. I only missed my four-legged mountain friend this time.
  • Maybe, in line with all the changes happening in my life, I should take a vacation that is not just wandering in the mountains this year. I’m thinking about it – I just don’t have any ideas yet.

This page is a snapshot of what’s happening in my life now. My goal is to update it at least once a month. It’s not an idea of mine, but was inspired by Derek Sivers and many others.
