Kiewit Hall awarded prestigious WELL Gold Certification
Summer 2026
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Engineering is pleased to announce that it has been awarded WELL Certification at the Gold level for Kiewit Hall by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI).
Kiewit Hall is the only building in the University of Nebraska system and among an elite group of collegiate engineering facilities nationally to be both LEED Gold certified by the U.S. Green Building Council and WELL Gold certified.

College of Engineering, Kongju National University establish joint Ph.D. program

The agreement is the culmination of several years of relationship-building beginning in 2021 when Dongkyoung Lee, professor of mechanical and automotive engineering at KNU, contacted Jae Sung Park, Richard L. McNeel Associate Professor of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Nebraska. KNU had recently received funding through South Korea's prestigious Brain Korea 21 initiative for its Graduate Program for Eco-Friendly Future Automotive Technology and was seeking an international partner to strengthen its research and graduate education efforts.

Nebraska Engineering, JUST announce Ph.D. partnership

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Engineering and Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), located in Irbid, Jordan have launched a joint Ph.D. program in structural engineering, expanding an international academic partnership designed to strengthen doctoral education, research collaboration and faculty engagement.
The new program creates additional opportunities for graduate students to benefit from the academic and research strengths of both institutions while deepening collaboration in structural engineering. It follows the launch of a joint Ph.D. program in computer engineering between Nebraska and the University of Jordan in September 2025.
