I just played through "What Remains of Edith Finch" what a strange and wonderful game. It's on sale right now. If you like interactive stories and "walking simulators" give it a try.

Let's assume you are me. And you bought one of those NanoKVMs because it might come in handy one day. Where the fuck would you put it until that day arrives?

Because the day - it has arrived and I can't find that thing.

when I started my desktop computer today, the grub screen reminded me that this a dual boot system. I don't remember when I last booted Windows though. it genuinely might be several years now 😳

gaming used to be the main reason, but with Steam Proton, games just work.

god I hate the CVE system so much.

just discovered another CVE against DokuWiki that was a) never reported and b) totally misrepresents the severity level.

any dork can register a CVE in minutes, but disputes by the actual maintainers can take months or are just ignored.

and then there are "security researchers" who seem to have decided that their job is to collect CVEs like Pokémon...

it's such a shit show

This post shows what's wrong with the big national open source funds. focus on big features and formal long term proposals is just not what open source maintainers really need.

What they need is a steady, reliable income.

my dudes (it's always dudes). when someone asks a question on the internet and you don't know the answer. Just fucking ignore it. "helpful guessing" is not helpful. the internet is a big place - there is a good chance someone will actually know the answer. if you want to be helpful, just boost the question.

If you need to keep your daily meds cool during days like these, I can really recommend an evaporation based cooling med bag.

Got myself one back for cccamp2023 & it's coming in handy right now as it allows me to keep my daily pills next to my bed where I can't forget taking them, nicely cooled at around 22°C (as long as I keep the inner bag hydrated). My supplies went into the fridge of course.

Not an ad, an actual recommendation. I got mine from frio.eu but there might be other options.

What's missing: a "remind me later" option for Android notifications.
I really want to swipe away this signal notification from my mum, but I will forget about it if I do.

Edit: I just got told there's an option for that. It might be "Allow notification snoozing". Though I am not sure it's what I want. Does it simply suppress all notification from the same app for some time? Or does it really just pop up the same notification after the snooze is over? We'll see.
