With the introduction of rigs and frames, this functionality has been broken and results in crashes, because the setting or splitting a camera needs a much more complex update of the rigs/frames tables as well. In fact, we cannot generally split or set an arbitrary camera for an image. I doubt a significant fraction of people is using this, because nobody complained that it was broken.
