Otherwise, 'scripts/travis_test.sh' fails to work.

@ehennenfent Do I need to do anything about this Travis failure? It failed because a method (in tests) is not present in this chunk. The next PR (#1423), which has all changes, including this one, succeeds. |

@nkaretnikov Don't worry about the failing unit tests for now. I'll likely edit these PR's to merge into a separate dev branch before merging into master, so we should get some final validation that everything passes.
