Rena Nickerson: Purpose-driven Culture Builder
Date: June 18th, 2026
Time: 9:00 am — 10:00 am ET
Join us to peel back the layers on Rena’s journey to executive leader.
Let’s get real: the most valuable leadership lessons aren’t the ones you find in a textbook or an MBA syllabus. They’re the hard-won insights picked up in the trenches of a real career. We’re sitting down with Rena Nickerson, GM of Quaker and Sabra Canada, to peel back the layers on her journey from early career to executive leader. This isn’t a lecture on theory; it’s a candid look at the road traveled, the lessons learned along the way, and how defining her purpose as a leader keeps her grounded.
We’ll discuss the art of being “new” (and how to make it less painful for your team), the surprising power of “speed coaching,” and how to navigate the tension between fitting in and embracing the differences that make you unique. Join us for a candid look at how to lead with empathy, build true belonging, and drive performance by putting people first.
When People Throw Wrenches: Recognize and Respond to Self-Interested Behaviour During Change
Date: Sep 10th, 2026
Time: 9:00 am — 10:00 am ET
Change initiatives consistently fail but not for the reasons leaders typically blame. Strategy was sound. Execution was competent. Yet somewhere between boardroom decisions and frontline implementation, resistance emerges, coalitions form, information gets weaponized, and people maneuver for position and power.
In this interactive conversation, I’ll be joined by our friend Phil Buckley, change expert and author of When People Throw Wrenches, to explore why human behaviour, not strategy or execution, is the true source of change failure; and, what leaders can do to recognize, anticipate, and respond to the people that derail our best-laid plans.
Most leaders see resistance to change and assume it reflects disagreement about the change itself. In reality, much of what appears as resistance is driven by something far more predictable and human: self-interest. Phil will unpack some of the most common self-interested behaviours, explain how to recognize and respond with skill, and share how leaders can keep change efforts on track. If you lead, sponsor or influence change, this conversation will be a must-attend. Come ready to learn, challenge, and get your questions answered in this interactive session.
