Highlights from the First MANRS Community Meeting of 2026
On 17 June, the MANRS community came together for its first community meeting of the year, run twice across time zones so participants everywhere could join at a reasonable hour. Nick Hilliard (INEX) chaired the East Session and Douglas Fischer (NZM / Binário) the West Session, both opening with thanks to the Secretariat run by […]

Why Join MANRS?
Every day, routing security incidents affect the Internet and the organizations and people that rely on it. MANRS sets security norms to reduce those incidents.
Participants across four programs

Improve security by preventing attacks and accidents

Join a community committed to a more robust and secure Internet

Lead the industry by inspiring and encouraging other operators
The Observatory
The MANRS Observatory monitors the state of Internet routing security. It aggregates data from multiple sources and projects to help network operators improve the security of their networks. See how your network is doing.

Testimonials
As the provider of a network that connects NZ's researchers, educators, and students to the rest of the world, REANNZ has always taken the security and stability of our members’ networks seriously. MANRS’ pragmatic and straightforward framework for implementing best practice routing security reflects and expands upon our own efforts in this area. We support this initiative and encourage wider adoption of it throughout the Internet community for the benefit of all.
For Arista, security is a key attribute of our overall solution, starting at the routing perimeter for worldwide Internet resiliency. As a global industry leader in cloud networking, we want to take part in the efforts to secure the Internet as well. MANRS is providing great guidelines to achieve that goal and Arista Networks is proud to be a founding participant of the MANRS Vendor Program.
Senior Vice President, Customer Engineering for Arista NetworksSUNET is committed to robust global routing polices and MANRS is one of the best initiatives so far to help out operators with this. We hope with our participation that more of the R&E sector will sign up and live up to the norms. We hope that in the future MANRS will be the standard, not the exception.
Network Architect, SUNETBecoming a member of the MANRS community is a great way to demonstrate Pioneer's commitment to play an active role in maintaining the integrity of the global internet ecosystem.
The MANRS IXP Initiative brings together in one place, in an easy to access form, all of the relevant information on routing security best practice for our members. We incorporate the MANRS material into our training courses and guidance, to provide our members with a consistent approach to routing security and BGP policy best practice.
Senior Network Engineer, LONAPURAN Association community is participating in MANRS because routing security is a growing area of concern for network operators around the globe. Whether from accidental misconfiguration or malicious hijack, the results are often more than just inconvenient. Joining MANRS and the Internet2 community’s efforts connect us with a community of security-minded professionals and organizations committed to making the global routing infrastructure more robust and secure.
We believe that Internet is a community where everyone has to contribute to have a more secure Internet infrastructure. We are committed to making our part for a global routing infrastructure more robust and secure.
We stand behind the MANRS initiative, especially taking into account our primary goal of adhering and refining of industry best-practices, as far as security and data protection are concerned. Initiatives of the nature of MANRS are always welcome, in the spirit of improving both our internal quality assurance and security efforts in the medium-term.
Internet has vastly grown in size over the last two decades. Although the tools nowdays exist, many providers have not taken the correct steps in order to address critical security issues. MANRS is the right way for network and cloud providers to further engage with internet security and make the internet safer for everyone. Hostmein IKE is a leading Greek cloud and data center provider providing mission critical services. Security for Hostmein is a critical aspect. MANRS actively helped us implement a better security policy for our network by setting the correct guidelines.
CTOHaving been introduced to MANRS through attendance at LINX 102 we could see that this was a great way for us to be able to benchmark ourselves against recognised best-practice. In addition we benefit from being part of a community of like-minded organisations looking to make the global Internet more resilient and secure.
Kevin Herbert, Operations DirectorProviding good connections for people requires hard work and, above all, responsibility. MANRS is a vital initiative for the smooth running of the WWW, and it's an honor to be a part of it.
For Internet Exchange Services Yucatan (IXSY) the adoption of standards and best practices for routing security has big importance, because IXPs are key infrastructure and play an important role in the Internet ecosystem. The adoption of MANRS in IXSY helps in strengthening the routing security on the Internet.
