NPORS helps operators gain the skills, confidence and certification they need to work safely and competently across the UK’s plant and machinery sectors. We’re proud to be one of the UK’s leading accreditation and registration bodies for a wide range of industries.
Through the NPORS Card Scheme – including the NPORS Operator Card and NPORS CSCS Cards – we help operators gain recognised, industry‑relevant skills. Our accredited training and testing supports safer, smarter and more efficient operations across several sectors, including construction, utilities, logistics, ports and marines, quarries, agriculture and renewables.

Founded in 1992, NPORS was created to offer a more flexible, accessible and industry‑focused approach to training and testing for mobile plant operators, lift truck operators and users of powered work equipment. Our purpose has always been to make high‑quality training available to organisations of every size, in every location.
That commitment remains at the heart of NPORS today. We help employers build a safer, more competent workforce, and we help operators gain the skills and confidence to go home safely after every shift.
Independent of any training board or trade association, we deliver accredited training and testing through a rigorously monitored network of Accredited Training Providers. Courses can be delivered on site using an organisation’s own machinery, or at a dedicated training centre. Every provider and instructor is audited to ensure consistent NPORS standards.
NPORS provides new and experienced instructors with a pathway to join the scheme.
We offer a Instructional Techniques course, equivalent to a Level 3 Award in Education and Training. All instructors are required to successfully complete this course and meet strict entry criteria, including a robust CV and relevant industry qualifications, ensuring high standards across the scheme.
