WordCamp Europe 2026 in Krakow

In recent years, I’ve almost always been at WordCamp Europe as a volunteer. I’ve actually only missed a few. Last year in Basel, I finally stood on stage myself and, with my talk on Multilingual WordPress for developers, got to give something back to WCEU – an exciting experience!

At WordCamp Europe 2025 in Basel, we also opened our own Multisite table at Contributor Day for the first time, and a few weeks later, we repeated the whole thing at WordCamp US 2025 in Portland. WordCamp Europe 2026 was not going to be an exception, so together with my colleague Bernhard Kau, I signed up with the Contributor Day organizers.

Thoughts on the WordPress Network Admin Redesign

At first glance, the WordPress Admin Dashboard feels a bit outdated. The overall structure with the left-hand navigation and the top admin bar has hardly changed for many years. Admittedly, there have been major updates that have shaped how we work in the dashboard: visual refreshes, the introduction of the block editor, and later the expansion of the block philosophy to the entire site design.

Multisite Table at the WCEU 2025 Contributor Day

At the Contributor Day of WordCamp Europe 2025, I had the pleasure of leading the table for the Multisite component. Together with ten dedicated contributors, we worked on patches, discussed open tickets, and proposed concrete improvements to WordPress Core. It was inspiring to see how much interest there is in Networks & Sites and how much energy the group brought to the topic.
