It’s that time again, update time!
The weekend was mostly low energy cause Friday was tiring. What did come on Saturday was a delivery. Mum wanted something from John Lewis, so asked me to look if there was anything to get the free delivery. And ahh! They had the other Stranger Things Care Bears so of course I got them (along with a book) and they were on sale too so cheaper than Lucas was
So the gang is all here.

Dustin is my fav, his hair is so cute with all the curls! And Will’s lil jacket. (And Mike is also there I guess.). Oddly Mike’s tag is different to the others which is so odd.
I tried looking for my Jurassic Park boxset but it’s still awol which really bugs me. However Netflix has them so I was able to watch it on Sunday like I hoped.
It really is one of those all time greats. The wonder, the performances, how great it all looks. And of course now it’s clear to see how the ‘spared no expense’ line is a lie. Like man you have a skeleton crew running things, and you don’t even have locks on the cars (even if dinos weren’t escaping there’s electric fences) and there was clearly no plan even if basic things went wrong.
On the night I watched the second Sana film, Sana Let Me Hear. (A few thoughts ahoy)
( Read more... )Yesterday was a town trip but before I went there was some issues. The food shop usually comes today but I clicked the wrong day so it came yesterday instead. I felt so bad having to leave mum with it but there was no way to stay for it. Apparently it even came late in the time slot so it would’ve been impossible for me to stay even if I’d tried.
So I went to Birmingham and hit up a few places before going to the HMV for the signing/performance. I didn’t get too much, I got one comic (a Fantastic Four First Steps one), a black series figure (Brutus from Skeleton Crew) and some Star Wars Unlimited packs (they were half off and had some pretty cool cards).
And I got to see some of the pretty Snoopy art things they’ve done this year (every so often birmingham has a ‘summer’ walk where they have art works of things painted, one of the last ones was Shaun the sheep painted in various ways)
Main thing was a performance and signing from As It Is for their new album! I’d ordered it from the hmv site months again, without hearing any of the tracks, cause I missed them the last time they did a tour. When I picked up my album and wristband the guy at hmv said the performance would be half an hour (though I didn’t hear much cause they were playing something VERY loud over the speakers).
When I came back after noms/going into the other Forbidden Planet (and picking up the Hei Hei that Argos had for mum) the performance was actually longer, being 45 minutes. It was mostly stuff from the new album (half an hour) with stuff from their first one (15 minutes). (Alas that meant they didn’t do anything from my fav album though I didn’t expect them too)
They put on a pretty good show despite the small stage and Patty is a pretty good frontman. And it was funny how he mentioned the switchover as playing stuff from the 2010s ‘which is significant better time than now’ which true. The new stuff has grown on me a bit, the singles weren’t stuff I instantly loved right away, but I do like most now. (Also sadly there was no live sax playing)
I got some pics at the signing and wasn’t sure what to say so ended up just mentioning the heatwave when patty asked how I was (which felt so dumb and cringey😭). They also had a merch van outside, cause they were meant to be doing a tour with someone but it got cancelled (I can’t recall why) so I got a tote bag which is pretty.

On the way home I picked churros from the Taco Bell intending to share with mum but they didn’t taste quite right. I assumed warming them would help but I overdid it and made them burnt😭 fuck my dumbass for that.
I did finish Silverweed Road on the train, I’ll post thoughts properly on the next reading post thing, but it’s now back at the library after being around for two (ish) months (I think?)
I’d sent mum a message saying I was on my way and she’d come to meet me on the way back with Naryu, which was sweet how she got excited when she saw me. Less sweet was how she managed to slip into the pond and get soaked. (I dunno if she was just drinking water and slipped or she saw a fish and decided to go for it) she needed a bath when she got back though, silly girl.
This morning I was tired so didn’t do much (mostly cause I got water from Tesco and the bottles weighed me down cause the offer was for three).
I did watch the Avengers Doomsday trailer and… I felt nothing from it. I think it’s because, as a lot have posted, that there’s been no build up for Doctor Doom. Like Thanos had a lot of build up while Doom is just suddenly there. (And I know it’s due to the original plan, with Kang being derailed cause of the actor being an abuser, so it screwed things over but still) at least it means the Fantastic Four are back though.
There’s also a new Lego set coming based on The X-Files, with Mulder’s office and an alien ship which looks
pretty cool. I love that Krycek is one of the figures though it’s so funny they don’t call the smoking man the smoking man. There’s also a video thing with Gillian Anderson promoting it though I’ve not seen it yet.
Anyway, now to rest and watch Seapeekay playing phasmophobia.
