.@pakman's point: stop disapproving of how younger generations take risk, and start building platforms that are fair, transparent, and low-fee. Adapt the market to meet their needs.

This makes prediction markets, often thought to be problematic, one of the solutions. Built on public blockchains, the rules are inspectable, and payouts are auditable on-chain; this allows for fairness you can verify, rather than fairness you're just asked to trust.

So the money has moved up the risk curve for a decade: 0DTE options, sports betting (from $4B to $165B+/year), meme stocks, meme coins, perps. When saving can't keep pace with the price of the asset, a risky bet isn't irrational; it's arithmetic.

The math is brutal. Millennials hold a tiny percentage of US wealth compared to what boomers had at that same age. Home prices outstrip median income by several multiples. Add that to the average student debt, and the approach of “disciplined saving” no longer moves the needle.

Half of Gen Z investors hold crypto, ~1/3 of adults under 30 bet on sports, and prediction markets see billions in monthly volume. It’s easy to write this off as recklessness, but @pakman sees this as a rational adaptation to a broken system.

People ask us all the time “where are all the crypto consumer use cases?” Trading and payments are the obvious answers. Robinhood is a good example of who is capitalizing on the former and they are going all-in to move as much of their trading activity onchain as possible.
