1. Hosting

This website runs on our own servers, physically located in a Hetzner data centre in Germany. When you visit, your browser automatically transmits technical data including your IP address, the requested URL, HTTP status code, browser/OS identifier (user-agent), and referrer. These server logs are retained for a maximum of 14 days for operational and security purposes and are then deleted.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable web infrastructure.

2. Content Delivery & DDoS Protection — Cloudflare

All traffic to this website passes through Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA), which acts as our DNS resolver, reverse proxy, CDN, and DDoS protection provider. Cloudflare temporarily processes IP addresses and request metadata on servers within the EU and, to a lesser extent, the US.

Depending on the active Cloudflare security features, Cloudflare may set the following strictly necessary cookies:

3. Web Analytics — Matomo (cookieless)

We use Matomo, an open-source analytics platform, operated on our own infrastructure via ana.lyse.io. Matomo is configured without cookies; no consent is required. IP addresses are anonymised before storage. No data is shared with any third party. The analytics data helps us understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the website.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in understanding website usage in an anonymised, privacy-preserving manner.

4. Contact by Email

If you contact us at [email protected], we store your email address, name (if provided), and message content solely for the purpose of handling your inquiry and for business correspondence. We do not use this data for marketing.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual or contractual communication) and Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR (statutory retention obligations under § 257 HGB and § 147 AO). Business correspondence may be retained for up to 10 years.

5. Cookies

This website itself does not set any cookies. Cloudflare, our CDN and security provider, may set strictly necessary security cookies (__cf_bm, cf_clearance) as described in section 2. No tracking, analytics, or preference cookies are used. No cookie consent banner is required or displayed.

6. No Third-Party Assets

All assets served by this website — fonts, scripts, stylesheets, and images — are hosted on our own infrastructure. No requests are made to external servers when loading this website, with the exception of Cloudflare as described above.
