My name is Parse/Error
Working under the pseudonym Parse/Error, Fabien Bouchard is a French artist based in south of France. Self-taught, his work is born from the encounter between art, design and technology and focuses on the interaction between human and nature, in a world invaded by the digital and the new uses of communication. With a scientific and IT background, he’s using new technologies and science to question modern issues in various ways, on the border of several creative universes.
After studies in biology, then in new technologies of information, and professional experiences in the web, he observed contemporary creativity and its new forms of expression for 10 years by creating and editing the web magazine UFUNK. For the past five years, he has now structured his work around the Parse/Error entity, in order to propose concrete projects focused on the issues that are close to his heart.
While seeking to recreate emotions from increasingly ubiquitous data flows and questioning our relationship with new technologies, he oscillates at the interface between technology and human sensitivity. Strongly attached to an offbeat look, his artistic practice openly mixes digital and generative art, virtual reality, 3D printing, connected objects, electronics, light, immersive installations, interactive experiences and real-time data.
In the last years, his work has received very positive feedbacks from various publications (Usbek & Rica, L’ADN, Hypebeast, DesignBoom, Mashable, Inhabitat, Journal du Design, etc.), and has been exhibited in Paris, Marseille, Rio de Janeiro, Dubai, Berlin, Hamburg, Manchester, Tokyo or New-York.
Travaillant sous le pseudonyme Parse/Error, Fabien Bouchard est un artiste français basĂ© Ă Marseille. Autodidacte, son travail est nĂ© de la rencontre entre art, design et technologie et porte sur l’interaction entre l’homme et la nature, dans un monde envahi par le numĂ©rique et les nouveaux usages de la communication. De formation scientifique et informatique, il utilise les nouvelles technologies et la science pour interroger les problĂ©matiques actuelles sous diffĂ©rentes angles, Ă la frontière de plusieurs univers crĂ©atifs.
Après des Ă©tudes en biologie, puis en nouvelles technologies de l’information, et des expĂ©riences professionnelles dans le monde du web, il a observĂ© pendant 10 ans la crĂ©ativitĂ© contemporaine et ses nouvelles formes d’expression en crĂ©ant et Ă©ditant le web magazine UFUNK. Depuis cinq ans, il structure dĂ©sormais son travail autour de l’entitĂ© Parse/Error, afin de proposer des projets concrets et centrĂ©s sur les problĂ©matiques qui lui tiennent Ă cĹ“ur.
Tout en cherchant Ă recrĂ©er des Ă©motions Ă partir des flux de donnĂ©es de plus en plus omniprĂ©sents et questionnant notre rapport aux nouvelles technologies, il oscille Ă l’interface entre technologie et sensibilitĂ© humaine. PortĂ©e par un regard dĂ©calĂ©, sa pratique artistique mĂ©lange ouvertement rĂ©alitĂ© virtuelle, impression 3D, objets connectĂ©es, Ă©lectronique, lumière, art gĂ©nĂ©ratif, installations immersives, expĂ©riences interactives et donnĂ©es en temps-rĂ©el.
