This Fourth of July weekend, BCFD reminds residents to grill safely. Keep grills outdoors and at least 10 feet away from homes, deck rails, leaves, and anything that can catch fire. Never leave a lit grill unattended, and clean grease buildup after each use.

Extreme heat can be dangerous for patients, older adults, children, outdoor workers, and anyone without reliable cooling. Stay hydrated, know the signs of heat illness, and check on vulnerable neighbors. If someone shows signs of heat stroke, call 911 immediately.
