So I now know the average difference that cutting VAT will make is £45 a year. Given that on July 1st the price of energy went up on average by £18 a month this is just a drop in the ocean that will make very little difference. Makes for good politics though.

People tell me they sometimes struggle to scrape together £10 to put on the key meter so if removing VAT makes a difference I'm all for it.
