Artemis IV hardware is on the move! Teams recently moved the liquid oxygen tank, which will form part of the SLS (Space Launch System) core stage for the @NASAArtemis IV mission, at #NASAMichoud ahead of inspections and the next phase of production.
This image shows NASA teams transporting a towering, silver, 51-foot-tall liquid oxygen tank from the main factory to a nearby high bay at NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility. The SLS (Space Launch System) hardware is captured within a massive roll-up door as it is carefully moved out of the factory. Framed by yellow scaffolding, a single worker kneeling at the center of the scene provides a clear sense of the tank’s immense scale, highlighting the enormous size of the flight hardware.

Introducing Artemis III. Four astronauts. Three launches. Two dockings. One splashdown. In 2027, the Artemis III mission will practice docking the Orion spacecraft with two lunar landers in low Earth orbit — the capability we need to return humanity to the Moon’s surface.
