Re: DraftKings surcharge will be passed on to customers. Will be implemented in the four states with above 20% tax starting Jan 1.
Will be "fairly nominal" to the customer but creates potential EBITDA upside.
Sounds like a bad idea. $DKNG
It will be a percentage based on the state's tax rate, so this will be a bigger deal the larger your betting unit is. Still, you're telling me all things equal you'd bet with a sportsbook that will pay you less than another? More the principle to me than the cost.
Just a reminder that covering ridiculous parlay wins as news, especially without context of how rare and unlikely it is, is most definitely not a responsible gambling practice.
Robins was asked if $DKNG hoped showing this surcharge to the customer would start a grassroots push to lower taxes. He said yes, hopefully states will reconsider if they hear from locals or local teams.
Might start a grassroots push not to gamble on your platform too though
Super surprised I have to say this but if you operate a regulated US sportsbook and you aren’t allowed to use kids in your ads, keep them off your Twitter too. Let’s use common sense, yeah?
Just want to brag a bit on my beautiful fiancee, @FantiniAshley, for being a champ through 30 hours of labor to give us our beautiful Emma Gianna. See you guys after some family time!
Kambi's bid with 5 operators and FanDuel's bid with 4 operators approved for New York betting. Bet365 was the only other qualified applicant but was left out. Story to come.
