The CAP is a true common policy, a policy of solidarity, and an anchor of European food security.
This policy will continue to be a cornerstone of EU funding 👇
Support only makes a difference when it reaches farmers on time. Getting EU funding into the hands of our farmers as quickly as possible is essential ➡️ for their livelihoods, our food security, and Europe's resilience 🌾🇪🇺
🇪🇺 Europe’s farmers are not alone
🚜The Commission allocates €540 million in support of farmers affected by the fertiliser & energy crisis.
This emergency package helps them tackle rising costs & market disruption, while ensuring food production

A successful transition is one that is fair. We need industry to decarbonise without passing the bill to those who can afford it least.
Our ETS should reward decarbonisation, strengthen 🇪🇺's own fertiliser production & keep fertilisers affordable for farmers.
🎙️ New podcast episode on our Livestock strategy !
Livestock is a European success story. Now we must ensure it remains one 🇪🇺🐄

Glad to meet Minister @PiyushGoyal again, this time in Brussels
As our leaders agreed, it’s time to move forward on a Geographical Indications agreement. Protecting quality products and strengthening our partnership go hand in hand. 🇪🇺🤝🇮🇳
A strong start to the Irish Presidency at the #AGRIFISH Council
✅ We adopted CAP flexibilities to help farmers tackle the fertiliser crisis and received strong support for our Livestock Strategy & Protein Plan.
Pragmatic solutions, shared ambition, and now a focus on delivery.
Today, we act for EU agriculture.

Resilience also means becoming less dependent on imported feed.
That's why our Protein Plan sets a clear objective ➡️ By 2035, 35% of the protein used for animal feed should be home-grown in the EU, up from 25% today.
Livestock and plant proteins are complementary.
I welcome today’s swift approval by @Europarl_EN of our proposals to help farmers cope with high fertiliser prices.
This is an important step to deliver immediate support, safeguard food production and strengthen Europe’s food security.
Today, I visited feed and vitamins production companies in 🇩🇪 & 🇫🇷 showing the innovation, science and expertise behind European animal nutrition.
This is the kind of strength we want to build on with tomorrow’s Livestock Strategy & Protein Plan

🌱 How much do you know about the EU protein system?
Protein is about much more than what's on our plates. It's part of a system that supports our food supply, livestock, farmers & the environment.

Today, the baton passes to the Irish Presidency 🇮🇪
Thank you to 🇨🇾 and Minister Panayiotou @riapan82 for an excellent six months. Progress on the #CMO, momentum on the CAP and a clear commitment to Europe’s farmers. This leaves a strong foundation for the work ahead.
