A successful transition is one that is fair. We need industry to decarbonise without passing the bill to those who can afford it least. Our ETS should reward decarbonisation, strengthen 🇪🇺's own fertiliser production & keep fertilisers affordable for farmers.

A strong start to the Irish Presidency at the #AGRIFISH Council ✅ We adopted CAP flexibilities to help farmers tackle the fertiliser crisis and received strong support for our Livestock Strategy & Protein Plan. Pragmatic solutions, shared ambition, and now a focus on delivery.

Resilience also means becoming less dependent on imported feed. That's why our Protein Plan sets a clear objective ➡️ By 2035, 35% of the protein used for animal feed should be home-grown in the EU, up from 25% today. Livestock and plant proteins are complementary.

Today, the baton passes to the Irish Presidency 🇮🇪 Thank you to 🇨🇾 and Minister Panayiotou @riapan82 for an excellent six months. Progress on the #CMO, momentum on the CAP and a clear commitment to Europe’s farmers. This leaves a strong foundation for the work ahead.
