President Biden shakes my hand and the only thing I found myself saying was, “I just want to say I love you.” He looks at my husband standing behind me and quickly responds, “Well, that guy is too big for me to take down.” 🤣

My daughter asked, “Do you ever have any regrets, Mom?” And while I know she was asking this question on a philosophical level, my mind immediately went to this puffin sweater I saw in Iceland. It’s been 3 years since I saw it in a shop there, & I still regret not buying it.

My son & I went to get döner. He ordered his meal in German, and the employee politely asked questions in German about sauces, salad vs. fries, & drinks. My son answered every question. Afterwards, the man helping us smiled SO kindly & said, in English, “You did a great job.”💗

President Biden was in Berlin for 24 hours. He has to be exhausted and jet lagged, but he shook hands and spoke with all of us who were waiting to meet him. He took selfies, made jokes, and was overwhelmingly kind and friendly. The best was when he told the girl beside us,

People are amazing! Just 10 days ago, I shared a thought about one of my regrets in life. Of course, not buying a sweater sounds like a minor regret, but SO MANY could relate! And then @dwiskus made my wish a reality. This sweater made it from NYC to Berlin in record time! 🐧

My daughter’s friend reached out to ask if he could come sit with her at the hospital so my husband and I could have a break. Thanks to this incredibly thoughtful 15-year-old, I was able to go home, have dinner with my other kids, and even take a much-needed shower. 🥹

This man totally made my son’s day and helped build his confidence. After having some setbacks of my own with practicing/speaking German, his kindness was exactly what we needed. If you’re in Berlin, Efes Grill is located at Teltower Damm 42 in Zehlendorf.

Haha! I love the blunt honesty of this statement. 🤣 The first time our twins flew as toddlers, we had them hand out little “thank you” bags to the passengers sitting around us. We wanted others to know we were cognizant of the fact that flying next to two babies isn’t always

President Biden asked where I was from, & I let him know we had moved to Berlin from Ithaca, NY. I knew he lived in Syracuse, so I was excited to see him smile. He told me, “I learned to ski on Skaneateles.” And I told him, “That’s my favorite Finger Lake.” And he was SO happy.
