Every Wednesday after practice our guys walk around the field and call their loved ones. Just to say we love you and hello. We all need to do a better job of this. This is a family program. #GoWild

The state of college baseball recruiting is so disheartening. Cutting kids because you can just go find someone else in the portal is going against everything college athletics is about. You recruited the player. Now go and give him a good experience and develop him.

Uncommitted catchers: When sending emails, can we start recognizing the difference between your “showcase pop time” and your in-game pop time? Realmuto is the MLB leader with an average 1.89. It’s hard to believe you’re getting the ball to second base more efficiently than him.

So. David Ortiz — included on the “Mitchell Report” for testing positive for PEDs in 2003 is a hall of famer. And Barry Bonds is not. The hypocrisy is baffling.

Coaches — please stop trying to recruit guys who have been enrolled in school and been in our program for multiple years. We’re not a junior college. They aren’t yours to recruit. At least call me before you call our players.

My grandfather passed away overnight. He was my last surviving grandfather. I’m sad. I’m sad for my grandmother whose husband of 65 years is no longer here. I’m sad for my mom, whose dad will no longer call her. We will miss him very much. Call those loved ones 🙏

Kid was recruited. Deposited. Registered for classes. De-commits as he was continuously talking to other schools. What are we doing? Do relationships matter anymore? Do kids want a relationship with their coaches? I’m left scratching my head more often than not recently.
