Former Chilean President Sebastián Piñera was a good friend to me & to the UK, so it was special to visit his family - Cecilia Morel, @Manena, @CeciliaPinera - & friends while in Chile. Thank you for such a warm welcome & for your continued friendship. Sebastián is sorely missed.

Thank you @PresidenteKast for welcoming me to Chile. It was a pleasure to meet you and your team to discuss current geopolitical challenges; learn more about the issues confronting Chile and the wider region; and emphasise the enduring bond that exists between our countries.🇬🇧🇨🇱

I’m incredibly proud to have initiated the @ukgovbluebelt programme. 10 years on this key environmental initiative now protects over 4 million sq km of ocean, making it the biggest blue belt in the world. It is genuinely world-beating and world-leading - and, crucially, it

A pleasure to speak at Nevill Holt Festival's Health Agenda Day about the great progress we are making with genomics; finding cures for rare diseases and Alzheimer’s; and how best we should tackle prostate cancer. A really engaging and thoughtful evening at a fantastic event.

This terrible news has really knocked me for six. Alex Younger was a truly outstanding Head of MI6 during my time as PM and an exemplary public servant. He has been taken from us far too soon. Due to the nature of their work, few fully understand the service and sacrifice made

Today’s decision from the Health Secretary on prostate cancer screening is a missed opportunity - too timid, too slow, and lacking the bold ambition that we so desperately wanted to see. As I set out last week, I fundamentally disagree with the National Screening Committee’s

Today’s recommendation from the National Screening Committee on prostate cancer screening is deeply disappointing and a real step backwards. I urge the new Health Secretary to reject it and go further - offering targeted screening for the most at-risk men. As I warned last

I know all too well from my own experience caring for our dear son, Ivan, that for millions of patients living with rare diseases and their families, time matters. Too often patients and their loved-ones face years of uncertainty, worry and heartache, with few or no treatment

Fewer than 5% of rare diseases have an approved treatment. The average diagnosis takes over five years. We're proposing a new way forward, and we want to hear from patients, families and carers like you. Open to all, respond before 30th July 2026 – brnw.ch/21x2GHn

I’m proud to lead the Advisory Council at @OHRareDisease, a global leader in the development of life-changing treatments for rare diseases. It was inspiring to attend the Harrington Scientific Symposium this week to support the enormous progress being made

I am deeply disturbed by the appalling attack on @Hatzola. I have seen for myself their inspiring work - volunteers working alongside the emergency services in providing a vital medical and ambulance response to the whole community. This horrific antisemitic attack is shameful.

As someone who has had a prostate cancer diagnosis, I know how important it is to make sure men get diagnosed early and receive the right treatments - so I couldn’t agree more with @RishiSunak and the campaign for a national targeted screening programme.

On #RareDiseaseDay I can’t help but think of our darling Ivan who died 17 years ago, almost to the day. But in my role at @OHRareDisease, I’m also filled with great hope and excitement at the tremendous strides being made to find new treatments and cures. telegraph.co.uk/gift/4b4f2356e…

Not all stories end the way they should. Every 3 minutes, dementia steals a happily ever after. Only through research can we change how the story ends. As President of @AlzResearchUK, I'm proud to support the #ChangeTheEnding campaign. youtu.be/gQVkNVPm2J0 #ForACure

I am appalled at the politically motivated prosecution and sentence handed down to Jimmy Lai in Hong Kong, following his National Security trial. This is an affront to freedom of speech and to China’s commitments made under the Sino-British Joint Declaration. I join the UK
