Hello everyone 👋 I am full stack javascript developer, I've been working as software engineer for more then 5 years. I started as self-taught student and I worked for 7 companies, if you are in the beginning, just know nothing is impossible
Frontend or Backend?
Understand what you like more, frontend or backend? You will never have 50% to 50%, usually, it is either 80% backend and 20% frontend or vice versa. In any case, the payment will be worth it. If you like more backend you should focus on it. What do you like?
You will never be 50% frontend and 50% backend as a full stack developer. Usually, companies need mostly one primary skill, either frontend or backend, and the second serves as a fallback to activate your experience as an extra bonus.
Do you agree with this conclusion?
I think Frontend is easier to learn, and faster to grow and get a well-paid job. Backend is really deeper and more varied, much more time to gain needed experience to reach the same level 🤔
I am a senior software engineer. What is the next position to upskilling? Team Lead, Tech Lead, Solution Architect... Honestly, I am afraid to move on cause I know these positions mean one: write less code but more boring meetings and discussions. Am I wrong?
