This is my Guide Dog, on our way home from work at 5pm, rooted to the spot & shaking with fear after fireworks went off nearby. Not only do fireworks cause extreme distress for dogs & humans, they pose risk to disabled ppls safety. This has to stop. Fireworks NEED to be regulated

FYI this happened on Monday night at 5 (so unexpected). I’ve since changed my work schedule so I’m home before dark the rest of the week. On bonfire night we were home for 3 & spent last night cuddled up listening to tv & music to keep Skipp calm, so he is safe & doing fine ♥️

I am an inpatient at a psychiatric hospital currently, while on weekend leave I made sure I voted in the upcoming election via postal vote. As a vulnerable person needing complex care, it’s more important than ever I have my voice heard on our future government.

On an acute mental health ward Me: (an hour ago) all of the toilets have run out of loo roll. Nurse: nothing we can do, only domestic can sort loo roll. Me: but domestics won’t be here for another 2 hours? Nurse: yep, your all gonna have to wait. That’s perfect 🥴🥴🥴

Packing up my clothes ready for my admission on Tuesday to The Cassel Hospital, a personality disorder unit in London. Will be having treatment there for 9 months, I am feeling very nervous but a wee bit hopeful for the future. Going to give this everything I’ve got 💪

I’m deaf. I’m blind. I’m also a 24 year old who loves socialising with friends, likes cooking, loves her guide dog, is partial to a bit of crappy telly and has the best job in the House of Commons advising MPs. Deafblindness is not my defining feature #DeafBlindawarenessWeek

I am absolutely delighted to have found out today I have been awarded the 2019 Chancellor’s medal from @sheffielduni. My degree has been beyond anything I could ever have envisaged.

TW: suicide attempt I had a big blip & took a large overdose last week. I’ve been pretty poorly in hospital since. I did the first couple of days in a coma on a ventilator & then on CPAP. I have moved out of intensive care now which is helping me to rest. Life is v hard rn 😢

That’s great advice thank you, I think I just panicked, he’s not very food orientated tho which makes things tricker. I’m going to try and work from home the next few afternoons to avoid walking back while they’re still going off. Xx

I think I can finally say I’ve made it, first Christmas at home after 2 years of Christmas on a psych ward. I’m a little bit proud of me and very excited for tomorrow!
