While doing UI explorations, I started wondering if we can get away with not mentioning the term Lightning whatsoever? As a user, my need is not to “use Lightning”. What I want are instant, cheap payments to pay for things hassle-free.
While testing Lightning wallets, I had routing issues and encountered some unhelpful error screens. Pretty important to communicate well in these moments and help users get over the problem. Builds trust and confidence and lets people do what they came for.
Seeing lots of tiny fonts and tight spacing when exchanges, wallets, etc ask me to verify addresses. Making this bigger is an easy fix that can lead to fewer mistakes and eye strain, but might lower sales of magnifying glasses.
Here's a Figma community file with various #bitcoin hardware device outline illustrations. I created them for the wallet UI kit and design guide and thought they might be useful for others. Anything missing? figma.com/community/file…
Quick concept mock-up of a bitcoin node that runs in the background and only does things when my computer is idle. It would just need a small widget to check the status and maybe toggle the sync mode.
