This is Siege gameplay from about 2 months after release. 2 minutes into the round on old House and all 10 players are still alive. We spent a full minute as attackers walking around the top 2 floors with no shots fired.
The best argument against the Smoke change is that gamer logic would actually tell a new player that this character named Smoke with a big gas mask is going to be immune to his own smokes.
His name is literally Smoke.
