There’s nothing worse than hitting a pothole on the way to work and cracking your rim or busting your axle. Fixing the damn roads saves you and your family money: less wheel alignments, less flat tires, less money out of your pockets.

Today, I am declaring a state of emergency for Antrim, Cheboygan, and Emmet counties following severe rain and flooding that has damaged local roads and infrastructure. This declaration will deploy critical resources and financial assistance to families and first responders.

All state resources have been made available to respond to this emergency, and the state will continue to coordinate with local governments on response and recovery efforts. I want to thank all the first responders working tirelessly to keep Michiganders safe.
