Braids were more than just style during slavery. Enslaved people used braids to communicate escape routes.

Mainstream histories are going to look back fondly on the BLM movement, and that’s wrong. BLM circumvented actual grassroots in Ferguson, led by Darren Seals and others. He openly criticized BLM for stealing funds and hijacking the movement. Seals was shot and burned in a car.
